South Dakota State University Theatre

1920s Ice Box

I was the Properties Designer for South Dakota State University's production of Bright Star. One of the prominent props that the show requires is an ice box from the 1920s. Since we could not find one within our storage warehouse, I had to construct one.

I started with a quick schematic that I drew up on Photoshop with the dimensions that the director requested. After looking over the physical size that the director wanted, we noticed that the ice box was quite tall. I then talked with the director, and we talked about scaling it down by 6 inches. I quickly added the new measurements on to my schematic for contrsuction.
